Projected No. 1 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, Matthew Schaefer, had breakfast with Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand and other players ahead of Monday night's game.
Both from Toronto, Schaefer mentioned Marchand's character and wisdom while citing what he has learned from talking to so many accomplished NHL veterans in the Stanley Cup Final including Marchand, Connor McDavid, and Leon Draisaitl.
The New York Islanders have the chance to select Schaefer with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft on Friday, June 27.
With the series tied at 1-1, Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final continues Monday night.
