From the deck of the Titanic to high-octane street races, these rising NHL stars are swapping language apps for Hollywood blockbusters to master English while training stateside.
New York Islanders prospect Daniill Prokhorov came into this past development camp playing the same brand of hockey that the fan base came to love very quickly when they saw him in the summer of 2025.
The one biggest difference: he now knows English and he's quite good at it
Prokhorov told me that he watched Titanic and Fast & Furious movies with subtitles on.
Chicago Blackhawks prospect Roman Kantserov is doing the same:
Prokhorov and Kantserov trained together in Stamford, Connecticut, this summer with PRENTISS.
Philadelphia Flyers forward Trevor Zegras, Anaheim Ducks forward Chris Kreider, New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe, and Columbus Blue Jackets forward Dmitry Voronkov were also present.
