Fresh off an injury return, the young blueliner joins the lineup for Saturday's matinee against Edmonton as veteran Ryan Pulock remains sidelined following a recent mid-game exit.
The New York Islanders announced Saturday morning that the team recalled defenseman Isaiah George from the Hamilton Hammers.
George, 22, has played four games for the Hammers this season, limited due to an injury suffered early in the year.
He returned on Thursday night and was held out of Hamilton’s game on Friday.
The young defenseman was one of the final cuts from training camp for the Islanders, and now gets a chance to be with the team at least for Saturday’s matinee against the Edmonton Oilers.
This also means defenseman Ryan Pulock, who left Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Wild, will not return to action Saturday.
The veteran defender’s status has not been updated by the team, but its possible Head Coach Pete DeBoer does so prior to Saturday’s 2pm puck drop.
