The New York Islanders have recalled goaltender Tristan Lennox from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. Starting netminder Ilya Sorokin sustained an upper-body injury in the second period of their 7-6 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
Lennonx, 22, has played four games for Bridgeport this season, with an inflated 4.44 GAA and an .832 SV%.
Lennox's story is one of perseverance.
A knee injury a few years ago led to the 2021 third-round pick essentially missing his first two professional seasons, with his future very much in doubt.

With Sorokin out, Marcus Hogberg will likely start against the New York Rangers, but even serving as the backup is a big accomplishment for Lennox.
