The New York Islanders will not be signing prospect Cameron Berg to his entry-level deal on Friday, which means they will be losing his draft rights.
Berg, 23, has signed an AHL deal, which means he can play for the Bridgeport Islanders or the Worcester Railers (ECHL) this upcoming season.
The left-shot centerman played four years of NCAA hockey, his last two with the University of North Dakota, Brock Nelson's alma mater. He recorded 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists) in 26 games to conclude his senior season, wearing an "A" on his sweater.
Following the end of the 2024-25 NCAA season, Berg signed an Amateur Tryout, joining Bridgeport, where he recorded two goals and an assist in three games.
Berg did not make our top-15 prospect list, but was very close after a strong development camp.
