Dynamo Moscow is moving to retain the rights of the 2025 second-round pick, though the young forward remains committed to the Islanders’ new AHL affiliate this fall.

On Wednesday, Dynamo Moscow tendered a qualifying offer to New York Islanders prospect Daniil Prokhorov.

Prokhorov, selected by the Islanders in the second round (No. 42) of the 2025 NHL Draft, played 23 games for Dynamo Moscow this past season, recording one goal before electing to come over to North America and join the Bridgeport Islanders before their season came to a close.

I'm told this is just a move so that Dynamo continues to hold his KHL rights, if he had an inkling to return.

As of now, there is no reason to think he will not be playing in Hamilton, with the Islanders new AHL affilaite, in 2026-27.

Prokhorov, who sustained an injury in his only Bridgeport appearance, signed his three-year entry-level deal on Sept. 2, 2025.
