Former New York Islanders forward Josh Ho-Sang was once again in the news this weekend, making his debut for the ECHL's Florida Everblades.
After going scoreless in his debut on Friday, he tallied his first goal on Saturday against the Savannah Ghost Pirates.
The goal came in the late stages of the second period. Florida's Dustyn McFaul let a shot go from the blue line that was stopped in front, but Ho-Sang from the left side of the net buried the loose change, giving the Everblades a 3-2 lead at the time of the goal.
Ho-Sang also assisted on Mark Senden's goal in the first period, giving him a two-point night.
Prior to debuting with the Everblades, Ho-Sang released an album called SAME. The album reflected on his previous career path, which largely ran through Long Island.
The forward showed flashes of brilliance with the Islanders on the ice but largely spent time in the AHL with Bridgeport. He also suffered from some questionable choices on and off the ice, and the album is a reflection on his path to this point.
Despite dropping Saturday's game 6-3, he joins a team in the thick of the ECHL's playoff hunt. The Everblades hold a record of 34-20-7 and are looking to become the first team in league history to win three straight Kelly Cup championships.
