Since early August, New York Islanders' 2025 second-round pick (No. 45) Daniil Prokhorov has been with Dynamo Moscow on a professional tryout.

The second-round pick was clearly excited to be there and loved the fans.
The tryout comes to a close on Friday, and here's the latest with one day to go.
Prokhorov has primarily played a bottom-six role with Dynamo, and on Thursday, he was slotted in as the 13th forward as the Moscow Mayor's Cup begins.
This is a preseason tournament, the last event of the summer, which takes place from August 28 to August 31. The six teams competing in the Mayor's Cup are Dynamo Moscow, Spartak, CSKA, Torpedo, Shanghai Dragons, and Dinamo Minsk.
Prokhorov and Dynamo battled Torpedo Thursday morning at 7 AM ET, with Torpedo coming away with a 1-0 victory. Prokhorov did not record a point, per Hockey News Hub.
Dynamo's next game is on Aug. 30 against Dinamo Minsk, but by then, Prokhorov's PTO will have concluded.
The 18-year-old had previously played his last two seasons in the MHL, Russia's top junior league, and has a choice if he doesn't receive a contract out of this PTO.
The OHL's Sarnia Sting drafted him in the second round of the 2025 CHL Import Draft, and that could be an excellent spot for the 18-year-old to develop. We saw Jesse Nurmi do the same, joining the London Knights via the import draft for the 2024-25 season after playing professionally in Finland.
Sarnia's training camp began on Aug. 25, so he'd be missing most of the first week if he decides to come to North America.
