    Barzal had a week.

    After an impressive performance at the 2024 All-Star Skills Competition, New York Islanders forward Mathew Barzal competed in the 2024 NHL All-Star Game. 

    No. 13 notched three assists in Team Matthews' 5-4 shootout win against Team Hughes to advance to the finals against Team McDavid.

    Here was his secondary assist on a game-tying goal with under 2:00 to play in regulation:

    In the finals, Barzal notched another point, the primary assist on Filip Forsberg’s 4-3 dagger with around eight minutes to play in the second half. 

    Then Barzal earned the secondary assist on Matthews’ 5-3 dagger with 4:59 to play in the final frame before Barzal scored on a 2-on-0 for his first and only goal of the day:

    With the 7-4 win, Team Matthews' has won $1 million and Barzal gets his first All-Star Game victory of his career.
