New York Islanders hero Mathew Barzal takes us through the seconds after scoring the double-overtime winner to force a Game 5.
Bo Horvat strips Jalen Chatfield.
Barzal, along the end walls, gets the puck back to Horvat, who fights off Andrei Svechnikov before spinning to get a sharp-angle shot on goal.
The UBS Arena crowd goes "Oooo,"
Bouncing off Frederik Andersen's paddle, the puck comes flying out to the high slot.
From the bench, Robert Bortuzzo gets into the Hurricanes' zone and one-times the puck through traffic.
Silence.
Eruption.
A Game 5 in Raleigh on Tuesday night.
On Sunday afternoon, Barzal took us through what the seconds were like after potting the game-winner to send the New York Islanders back to Raleigh for a Game 5.
"I feel like that's kind of how it goes in those dire moments," Barzal said. "You know a puck is going to the net, and everyone kind of holds their breath for a quick second.
"And then, when it goes in, it kind of just explodes. I mean, when you're on the ice, you just hear almost like a background noise."
"You hear a lot of the yelling that goes on in the huddle with the goal," Barzal said. "Our fans were loud last night, and they brought a ton of energy in. It really helped us."
