    Shabanov, sidelined with an upper-body injury, rejoins the Islanders' skate, signaling a potential return to action for the forward.

    LAS VEGAS -- New York Islanders forward Maxim Shabanov (upper body) rejoined the group for Wednesday's practice at T-Mobile Arena, donning a red non-contact jersey. 

    Shabanov, 25, left the game against the San Jose Sharks with 10:16 to play in the third and did not return. 

    In six games this season, the Russian forward has one goal and two assists for three points, averaging 11:43 minutes per game.
