Boston University is reportedly eyeing CHL superstars Gavin McKenna and Michael Misa as potential additions for the 2025-26 season.
McKenna, the projected top pick for the 2026 NHL Draft, has dominated the WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers, leading them on a Memorial Cup run this past season while finishing second in the league in points (129) as a 17-year-old.
His teammate in Medicine and 2024 second-round pick of the Minnesota Wild, Ryder Ritchie, is reportedly interested in joining BU, so it is possible the two join together.
Misa, a projected top-three pick for the upcoming 2025 NHL Draft, led the OHL in scoring with 134 points in 65 games while finishing second in goals with 62 this past season.
While BU is unlikely to add both McKenna and Misa, getting one of the two would be a major addition and help New York Islanders 2024 first-round pick (No. 20) Cole Eiserman elevate his game.
Islanders Fans Can Catch Top Prospects Eiserman, Bednarik In Action At Madison Square Garden
New York Islanders fans will be able to get an in-person sneak peek of prospects Cole Eiserman and Kamil Bednarik when Boston University takes on Cornell University this fall.
Eiserman, who scored 25 goals with the Terriers in 2024-25, was one of the best freshmen in college hockey, leading his school to a Frozen Four runner-up finish.
With forwards Quinn Hutson, Ryan Greene, Shane LaChance, Devin Kaplan, Jack Hughes, and other prominent Terriers no longer on Comm Ave, Eiserman will be heavily relied on this coming season.
Kamil Bednarik, an Islanders' 2024 second-round pick (No. 61), is also at BU and hoping to go from his role as a third-line, checking center to a top-six scorer in 2025-26 and adding an elite talent like McKenna or Misa would go a long way in strengthening the Terriers’ core.
Both McKenna and Misa have interest from many schools like Michigan State, the University of Michigan, Boston College, and Penn State University, so they will each have their pick of the litter when deciding their 2025-26 team.
