Fresh faces Matt Kessell, Matias Maccelli, and Vitek Vanecek have claimed their stalls as the Islanders gear up for camp with a rare number making its return.
The New York Islanders have some new players this season.
They signed defenseman Matt Kessell to a one-year, $850,000 deal, forward Matias Maccelli to a one-year, $2.25 million deal, and goaltender Vitek Vanecek to a one-year, $1 million deal.
Kessel will wear No. 4, which Carson Soucy wore last season.
Maccelli will wear No. 63, which has only been worn twice in Islanders history: Cole Jarrett (2006) Josef Vašíček (2008)
Vanecek will wear No. 41, which was last worn by Marshall Warren this past season.
