The New York Islanders were quickly down two forwards against the Ottawa Senators on Friday night.
Just a tad over three minutes into the New York Islanders matchup against the Ottawa Senators, Lane Lambert found himself down to four defensemen.
Adam Pelech left the game after being on the receiving end of a Drake Bastherson hit at 2:23 of the first period. He seemed to be holding his wrist as he skated off the ice and went right down the tunnel.
Pelech missed two games with a lower-body injury earlier this season and has three assists in 15 games, with an average of 20:53 minutes per night.
In a similar fashion, going back to retrieve a loose puck, Sebastian Aho came up hobbling after a hit along the boards from Rourke Chartier.
At first, he spoke with trainers away from the bench, before eventually going down the tunnel.
Aho only played two shifts before his injury. He has four goals in 18 games this season, averaging 14:53 minutes per night.
Both did not come out for the second period.
We will update this story after the game.
