New York Islanders forward Anthony Duclair spent three seasons with the Florida Panthers (2020-2023).
During his time there, the South Florida community impacted him and his family, so he created a charity with the goal of making hockey more inclusive while fighting racism in the sport.
Per NHL.com correspondent George Richards, Duclair was on hand to unveil the first synthetic ice sheet in Broward County.
Per Richards, Feb. 12 in the city of Lauderdale Lakes is now called "Anthony Duclair Day."
Here's Richards' story on the event:
Duclair, who signed a four-year deal with the Islanders on July 1, lives in Florida, and what he's doing for the area is stellar work.
