St. Louis Blues minor leaguer Jakub Vrana will miss two games due to his cross-check to the head of Bridgeport Islanders forward Cole Bardreau.
On Monday night, Springfield Thunderbirds forward Jakub Vrana received a two-game suspension for his actions against Bridgeport Islanders forward Cole Bardreau in their game on Tuesday night.
In the final 70 seconds, the St. Louis Blues minor-league skated toward an exposed Bardreau after the Bridgeport skater received a pass along the neutral zone boards.
He then decided to cross-check Bardreau in the mouth:
The minor penalty helped Bridgeport secure the comeback as Hudson Fasching scored an empty net goal on the power play, his first of the season in the AHL as he continued his conditioning stint.
Vrana is eligible to return Sunday, March 3rd against who else but the Islanders. It will be an afternoon home game for the Thunderbirds with a start of 3:05 p.m.
