ELMONT, NY -- New York Islanders legends Butch Goring and Bryan Trottier both grew up with ponds in their backyards up in Canada.
Now, with the opening of ''The Park' at UBS Arena, the two reminisced with our Stefen Rosner about growing up playing outdoors, how important 'The Park' is for Islanders fans, and how important having two outdoor rinks is for growing the game of hockey.
"It's going to give [the fans] a reason to come to the games," Goring said. "Not just to watch great hockey, but they can bring their kids here, they can have fun, they can get them wound up, and they can understand just how difficult it is to play hockey."
