The New York Islanders have inked college free agent Cam Thiseing to a three-year entry-level contract.

With the NCAA collegiate season winding down, free agents are beginning to sign with NHL teams.

After the Bridgeport Islanders signed prospect Alex Jefferies of Merrimack University and college free agent Matthew Kopperud to Amateur Tryouts earlier this week, the New York Islanders have signed Ohio State forward Cam Thiesing to a two-way entry-level contract, which will begin in 2024-25:

The 22-year-old forward spent three seasons playing for the Buckeyes, scoring 32 goals and tallying 29 assists for a total of 61 points in 108 collegiate games.

This past season, his junior and final year in Ohio, Thiesing served as an alternate captain, scoring nine goals with seven assists for 16 points in 31 games.

He is a native of Franklin, Tennesee, and played junior hockey in the United States for the NAHL's Chippewa Steel with 13 goals and 26 assists for 39 points in 54 games during the 2018-19 season, before a three-year stint with the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers, with 31 goals and 41 assists for 72 points in 94 games over three seasons.
