Ahead of their season opener on Saturday, the Bridgeport Islanders announced that Cole Bardreau has been named the 15th captain in the franchise's history:
Bardreau has been a member of the Islanders organization for five seasons, mostly spending time with Bridgeport.
In the AHL, he's tallied 52 goals and 48 assists for 110 points in 244 games with the club.
He's had cups of coffee with the big club, appearing in 11 games with the Islanders, with a goal and an assist.
However, one goal was certainly a memorable one, scoring a penalty shot marker against the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 5, 2019.
The goal helped the Islanders to their 10th straight win, the second-longest winning streak in franchise history:
