Next week is Hockey Week Across America.
The week of Feb. 17 is considered Hockey Week Across America, and the New York Islanders will undoubtedly be celebrating.
The point of this special week is to engage the community in celebrating the sport at every level while also finding creative ways to expose hockey to children and families.
The Islanders will be hosting a few events that week, including Learn To Play, Coaching Development, Try Hockey For Free, Public Skates, Community Skates, Family Skates & more.
Here's the schedule:
Monday, Feb. 17: USA HOCKEY DAY -- 10am-6:30pm
Tuesday, Feb. 18: STICK SALUTE DAY -- 10am-8pm
Wednesday, Feb. 19: HOCKEY IS FOR EVERYONE DAY -- 10am-8:30pm
Thursday, Feb. 20: VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DAY -- 10am-8:30pm
Saturday, Feb. 22: TRY HOCKEY FOR FREE DAY -- 9am-7:30pm
Sunday, Feb. 23: WELCOME TO HOCKEY DAY -- 8am-1pm
All events will be held at The Park outside of UBS Arena.
