Ahead of the New York Islanders Thursday night game against the Detroit Red Wings, the organization provided a few updates regarding their personnel:
The 28-year-old forward has played three games with Bridgeport since being loaned for a conditioning stint after landing on long-term injured reserve on Feb. 21.
Fasching's $775,000 cap hit doesn't count against the books since he's on LTIR, despite playing in the AHL.
He has a goal in three games, scoring an empty-net power-play goal:
If the Islanders want to recall Fasching, a move needs to be made:
Fasching has three goals and five assists in 35 games this season.
When the Islanders sent Fasching down on a conditioning stint, Bolduc went with him.
The 23-year-old played two games under Patrick Roy heading into the All-Star break but was not in the starting lineup when the Islanders returned to action.
His last game came on Jan. 27 against the Florida Panthers, and to keep his confidence high, he was sent to Bridgeport.
Bolduc had to agree to the conditional stint.
In three games with Bridgeport, Bolduc has a goal, coming against the Springfield Thunderbirds on Sunday night:
Because Bolduc isn't injured, his roster spot and salary-cap hit ($800,000) counts against the Islanders' books.
In 33 games with New York this season, Bolduc has a goal and two assists.
Bortuzzo, the former Ryan Pulock plug-in, has not played for the Islanders since suffering a high ankle sprain in the Islanders' 5-4 overtime loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Jan. 2.
He's been on long-term injured reserve since then.
It seemed that Bortuzzo was taking strides to return when he was back on the practice sheet ahead of the Islanders Stadium Series showdown, but the Islanders announced that he had suffered a setback.
It's a positive sign to see that he is rehabbing, but until he gets back on the ice, he'll remain out indefinitely.
Bortuzzo has no points in 11 games with the Islanders this season.
It's been a tough year for Mayfield as he's struggled to stay healthy, missing 17 games due to multiple injuries.
He'll miss his third straight game after suffering a lower-body injury in the Islanders' 4-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues last Thursday.
There's no new information on his status, as we should learn more when the Islanders return home.
Mayfield has five assists in 41 games this season.
