

Thursday marks the beginning of the 2025 World Junior Championships in Ottawa.
The New York Islanders have four prospects taking part, the most they have had in quite a while.
Forwards Cole Eiserman (2024, No. 20) and Danny Nelson (2023, No. 49) represent Team USA. The two skate on the nation's second line.

Eiserman, a freshman for the Boston University Terriers, has nine goals and six assists for 15 points in 15 games.
Nelson, a sophomore at Notre Dame, has eight goals with five assists for 13 points in 18 games.
Representing Team Sweden is goaltender Marcus Gidlof (2024, No. 147).
Gidlof, 19, is 5-3-0 in the SHL, with a 2.07 GAA with a .917 SV%.
Representing Team Finland is Jesse Nurmi (2023, No. 113).
Nurmi, 19, plays in the OHL for the London Knights. He has four goals, 12 assists, and 16 points in 28 games.
Four games are on the docket on Thursday to kick off this tremendous event being held in Ottawa.
