After being listed as a game-time decision, Islanders center Jean-Gabriel Pageau will not play in Game 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Raleigh, NC -- There was only one question mark regarding the New York Islanders' Game 1 lineup against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Would centerman Jean-Gabriel Pageau play?
"He's still day to day with a lower-body injury. We will know after warm-ups. He will be a game-time decision," Islanders head coach Patrick Roy said on Saturday morning.
Pageau suffered a lower-body injury in the first period of their 5-4 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins in their regular-season finale game, which meant absolutely nothing.
It was a bad blow, one that the Islanders and their fans hoped was something minor.
But, when warmups came and went, Pageau was absent.
