The Islanders have struggled with the injury bug all season.
The New York Islanders are already down forwards Anthony Duclair and Mathew Barzal and defensemen Adam Pelech and Mike Reilly.
But two more players can be added to that list for now ahead of their 7:30 PM game against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.
Forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau, who didn't play in Friday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals, is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
Looking at the time logs from Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Boston Bruins, Pageau didn't play the final 6:21 minutes.
The positive news for the Islanders is that Pageau's injury wasn't so severe that he couldn't skate, but the negative is that he didn't feel good enough to go.
Because of that, it's unlikely that he'll play against Buffalo.
Defenseman Scott Mayfield, who did play on Friday, took a puck to the nose, leaving the ice with eight minutes to play.
Jakob Chychrun, who ended up scoring the overtime winner, took a point shot that deflected off Simon Holmstrom's leg before changing direction right into Mayfield's face.
After the game, Islanders head coach Patrick Roy said that Mayfield was good.
While we expect him to play, we've also been told players are good, and then, it turns out they are not, like Alexander Romanov after he returned against Buffalo on Nov. 1 as an example.

With Saturday being the second of a back-to-back, the team will not skate this morning. Roy will talk to us around 6:15 PM, so we'll learn more then.
The Islanders have not made any roster transactions at this time.
The positive on the injury front is that Duclair (lower body, LTIR) and Pelech (jaw) have been skating on their own. The negative is that Barzal has yet to return to the ice since suffering an upper-body injury on Oct. 30.
