Newsday’s Andrew Gross and the New York Post’s Ethan Sears were in St. Louis and reported the updates.
The 32-year-old center blocked an Erik Karlsson one-timer off his left hand early in the third period of their 5-4 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
He left the game and did not return, and the organization recalled center Kyle Maclean from Bridgeport on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old filled in for Cizikas, who missed 10 games with a lower-body injury back on Jan. 9.
Lamoriello shared that Cizikas stayed on the trip and will be re-evaluated when the club heads back to New York following Thursday's game.
The 34-year-old defenseman, who was acquired from the St. Louis Blues on Dec. 8, suffered a lower-body injury against the Colorado Avalanche in his 11th game with the Islanders, a 5-4 overtime loss.
The injury landed him on long-term injured reserve.
Bortuzzo returned to practice on Feb. 9 and skated for a few days but then was missing again.
Lamoriello said Thursday that Bortuzzo (high ankle sprain) suffered a setback and will be out indefinitely.

Fasching took part in last Friday's morning skate, his second skate back after practicing at MetLife Stadium ahead of their Stadium Series showdown with the New York Rangers.
But, Fasching did not return to the lineup outdoors and didn't travel to the team on their road trip.
In order to make financial room and create a roster spot for MacLean's call-up, Fasching was placed on LTIR retroactively to the date of the injury.
Lamoriello shared that Fasching will get at least one game in Bridgeport.
Fasching is eligible to come off LTIR on Feb. 29 against the Detroit Red Wings.
