ELMONT, NY -- At the 5:33 mark of the first period against the Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders defenseman Noah Dobson left the game.

There wasn't any big hit that could have contributed to the injury, which is unknown at this time. This was the last shift he took in the game.

The 24-year-old has been on a tear lately, reaching the 60-assist mark on Tuesday night in their 4-2 win over the cross-town rival New York Rangers, entering Thursday's game with points in three straight (two goals, two assists).

He's been a critical reason why the Islanders are on a five-game winning streak and, ultimately, why they are holding down the third spot in the Metropolitan Division.

Dobson suffered an upper-body injury and will be evaluated on Friday.
