Here are the latest New York Islanders updates from morning skate ahead of their game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The New York Islanders (40-30-9) battle the Philadelphia Flyers (29-36-13) Saturday night, another pivotal game with playoff implications.

Puck drop is slated for 7:30 PM ET at UBS Arena. It's also Jerry Garcia Night.

Now for your morning skate updates.

MORNING SKATE UPDATES

All healthy New York Islanders were on the ice for the morning skate. Forward Mathew Barzal (lower body) and Alexander Romanov (upper body) were not on the ice.

Islanders head coach Lane Lambert shared that Romanov has not been able to get on the ice yet.

Ilya Sorokin was in the starter's crease and was the first off, as he will make his sixth straight start. He owns a 1.96 GAA with a .938 SV% over his last five.

The Islanders have been messing with their power play and did so again, as Bo Horvat was back in the bumper position, a place he had much tremendous success as a member of the Vancouver Canucks.

Pierre Engvall was back on the second unit, in the one-time spot.

"Well, we're just continuing to look to see what we can spark, and what you saw this morning might not be what you see tonight," Lambert said. "So you know, we'll see what happens."

As for playing a team like Philadelphia who is playing for something much different right now:

"Philadelphia is a team that comes hard no matter what, and to your point, they have guys that are playing for a various number of different reasons," Lambert said. "Tampa game was Tampa, and now we move on to this game. We know we have to win this game and it's an important game for us so our guys will be ready."
