Ahead of Game Three against the Carolina Hurricanes, the New York Islanders have added five players to their playoff roster.

Joining forward Ruslan Iskhakov, who made his NHL debut in Game 82 of the season, and goaltender Jakub Skarek, who was recalled on an "emergency basis" to serve as the club's third goalie, are forwards Julien Gauthier, Brian Pinho, and Karson Kuhlman, along with defensemen Robin Salo and Dennis Cholowski.

Gauthier, who inked a two-year deal this summer worth $1.575 million ($787,000 AAV), played 27 games for New York, with five goals and four assists before he was sent to Bridgeport in favor of Oliver Wahlstrom getting more playing time under head coach Patrick Roy.

In 17 games for Bridgeport, the 26-year-old scored seven goals with three assists. He has three games of NHL playoff experience, coming as a member of the New York Rangers in 2020.

Pinho and Kuhlman, who reached signed one-year deals worth $775,000 this summer, have not played for New York this season.

The 28-year-old Pinho scored nine goals with 25 assists in 72 games, while the 28-year-old Kuhlman had 12 goals with 10 assists in 72 games.

Kuhlman has 16 games of NHL playoff experience, all coming with the Boston Bruins.

On the blue line, 25-year-old Salo is back on the NHL squad after playing 11 games for the Islanders in 2022-23.

He has 32 NHL games under his belt.

The pending unrestricted free agent had three goals and six assists over that span but had fallen down the defense depth charts, with just five goals and 19 assists in 68 games for Bridgeport this season.

Cholowski, a former first-round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings, signed a two-year deal in the summer of 2022 worth $1.525 million ($752,500 AAV) but has yet to suit up for the Islanders.

This year for Bridgeport, Cholowski had seven goals and 24 assists in 68 games after one goal and 37 assists in 67 games during the 2022-23 season.

The Islanders haven't officially announced the roster moves but these transactions are shown on NHL media site.
