EAST MEADOW, NY -- After just eight skaters hit the ice Tuesday following the New York Islanders 4-3 overtime loss Monday, the ice sheet was full Wednesday morning.
All 23 players were on the ice, including defenseman Scott Mayfield, who hasn't played since opening night.
After rejoining the Islanders ahead of a morning skate on Oct. 20, Mayfield missed the next few skates before rejoining the group Monday.
He will travel to D.C., per Lambert, and they'll make the decision Wednesday about his availability for puck drop.
Hudson Fasching, who has served as a healthy scratch for the last five games, took line rushes and seems to be a part of Lane Lambert's game plan for Washington.
Oliver Wahlstrom, who had played the last five games in Fasching's spot on the third line, was an extra at practice with Julien Gauthier.
Before everyone left the ice, Matt Martin was teaching Jean-Gabriel Pageau some fighting techniques:
Semyon Varlamov was the first goaltender off the ice, as we shall see if he makes his third

Here's what Fasching had to say about potentially getting back in the lineup Thursday in this exclusive interview with The Hockey News:
"I think for me, it's not necessarily keeping it simple but making the right plays, not trying to overthink anything. I think the one thing, after watching my game, and what I could be doing better is fore-checking harder, being quicker on offense, and trying to really establish possession in the zone. And that's something I definitely feel like I missed out on the first couple of games, was just being able to hold onto the puck. Well, that's, you know, I want to be able to play to my strengths, and that's one of my strengths."
