EAST MEADOW, NY -- Ahead of their back-to-back situation Friday and Saturday, the  New York Islanders were back on the ice for practice on Thursday.

Everyone was accounted for except Scott Mayfield, as the defenseman has not skated for a third straight day after blocking a Rasmus Dahlin shot off the ankle in the season opener last Saturday.

"He's still day-to-day," Islanders head coach Lane Lambert said following practice, and they don't know about his availability for Saturday night against the New Jersey Devils.

Mayfield has yet to skate since the injury.

    Here were the lines:

    Mathew Barzal-Bo Horvat-Simon Holmstrom

    Pierre Engvall-Brock Nelson-Kyle Palmieri

    Anders Lee-Jean-Gabriel Pageau-Hudson Fasching

    Matt Martin-Casey Cizikas-Cal Clutterbuck

    Adam Pelech-Noah Dobson

    Alex Romanov-Ryan Pulock

    Samuel Bolduc-Sebastian Aho

    Ilya Sorokin

    Semyon Varlamov

Oliver Wahlstrom had a rather strong practice as he continues to work his way back from his ACL injury. He took some line rushes on the third line in Hudson Fasching's spot and stayed out for the entirety of the power-play work in Ryan Pulock's spot as the top defenseman was working on the penalty kill.

"He's moving. He was on the power play a little bit, and he's just got to keep working," Lambert said. "The opportunity will come, whether that's tomorrow or the next day or whenever it might be.

"I think his attitude and his movement, his foot speed, things like that...everything is getting better and trending upward."
