Islanders & Rangers alumni came together Saturday for a great cause.

EAST MEADOW, NY -- A high-stakes bout between alumni of the New York Islanders and New York Rangers took place on Sunday at North Well Ice Center, with the Blue Shirts coming away victorious 6-4.

Check out the Islanders roster below:

There was an edition to the Islanders' roster as Thomas Hickey suited up for the first time since retiring.

Here's how it happened:

The Islanders potted two goals early to open the scoring. Dave Scatchard got the first goal on the power play, tipping home a Mark Streit shot.

Scatchard once again contributed to their second goal, setting up a rush with Matt Moulson.

No. 26 received a pass from Scatchard in the right and fired the puck past Henrik Lundqvist to give the Islanders a 2-0 lead. While the Islanders controlled play in the first half of the opening frame, the Rangers had the answer.

After a Kip Brennan penalty, Nigel Dawes riffled a shot past Kevin Poulin to cut the lead in half. Just minutes later, Michael Del Zotto finished from the high slot to level the score.

With just under two minutes to play in the first, Brandon Prust got all alone on Poulin and finished, giving the Rangers the 3-2 lead after the first half.

The two teams traded goals quickly to start the second and final frame. Scatchard added his second of the game, but Adam Graves responded to give the Rangers a 4-3 lead.

The Islanders pressed for most of the half before finally getting the game tied by Steven Jaworski.

However, shortly after the tally, the Rangers took the lead for good on goals by Wojtek Wolski and Prust’s second of the game.

All proceeds from the event went to the Northwell Health Foundation.

This year was the third year the Islanders and Rangers played in an alumni game. The two current teams will meet for the first time in the NHL’s Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 18.
