The New York Islanders needed to bring the energy on Saturday night against the Nashville Predators.
So did the fans.
Together, the two forces united to help the result, a 2-0 victory that extended their winning streak to four games with five games to go.

From the opening puck drop to the cheering for Barry Trotz in his return to Long Island to every one of Semyon Varlamov's 41 saves, the UBS Arena was making their presence felt.
"The fans went nuts, and I went nuts in the net!" Varlamov said with MSG's Shannon Hogan after being named the first start of the game.
Noah Dobson, who scored the game-winning goal, spoke on the fan's importance in their playoff run.
"They were great. It was the most energy and the loudest we've had the building all year," Dobson said. "It's gonna be important. We're going to need them down the stretch here, too. Hopefully, they can continue to bring that energy.
It definitely gave us a jolt, especially in the third period."
Kyle Palmieri, who scored on the empty net for a second straight game, became the first Islander to do so since Mike Bossy scored 50 in 50 back in 1981, said the fan support helped immensely.
"They were great. I mean, going into the third there, we needed their support," Palmieri said. "And I think they had an opportunity to change momentum and be behind us, and they did that."

With three of their last five games on home ice, their next one coming against the New York Rangers, the Islanders will need the Blue & Orange faithful to keep the cheers coming as they continue their playoff push.
