This will be the Islanders' first game of the regular season, while Utah will host the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 8 for their first-ever game as an NHL franchise.
New York will then head to Dallas to play the Stars on Oct. 12.
The rest of the schedule will be released on Tuesday.
