During the second period of Saturday night's 4-2 win over the San Jose Sharks, New York Islanders captain Anders Lee looked to have, maybe given his club a 3-1 lead with 6:27 to go in the second period.

On a sharp-angle shot, Sharks netminder Alexandar Georgiev slid back, almost into his net, as he tried to trap the puck between his glove-side arm.

Following the whistle, the referees elected to take a look at the play and that's when the fun began.

While the officials looked at their monitor, a sneaky Sharks fan tried to slip the closest referee a $100 bill.

The bribe wasn't expected, but the call went the Sharks fans' way as it was deemed no goal.

This is something I don't think we've seen before, but it led to a rather funny video and maybe, just maybe, the hockey gods thought it was funny too, leading to the no-goal result.
