The New York Islanders wasted no time on the trade market after seeing Ryan Pulock go down with a lower-body injury 15 seconds into their 3-2 overtime win on Saturday.
New York announced on Monday afternoon that they have acquired Scott Perunovich from the St. Louis Blues:
While Pulock is a big-body right-shot defenseman, Pernovich is a 5-10 left-handed defenseman. However, he can play both sides.
Drafted in the second round (No. 45) of the 2018 NHL Draft, the former Hobey Baker winner in 2020 while at Minnesota-Duluth (six goals, 34 assists in 34 games) has 97 career games of NHL experience with two goals and 27 assists.
More coming later on, the 26-year-old newest addition, is a pending restricted free agent with arbitration rights.
