Sheldon Keefe is the next head coach of the New Jersey Devils, per multiple reports.

Once Sheldon Keefe was shown the door after the Toronto Maple Leafs fell to the Boston Bruins in Game 7 of the First Round, everyone knew that it wouldn't take long for him to find a new home.

Keefe, 43, spent the better parts of the five seasons as the head coach in Toronto and now will be heading to the New York Islanders division rival, the New Jersey Devils:

The Devils have yet to make this news official.

The Islanders went 3-0-0 against the Maple Leafs this season but had trouble with the Devils, going 1-2-1.

With Keefe headed to New Jersey, there have been five coaching changes in the Metropolitan Division since the end of the 2022-23 season, six if you count Mike Babcock being fired before the start of the 2023-24 season.
