New York Islanders prospect Cole Eiserman (2024, No. 20) freshman season at Boston University came to a close on Saturday night after a 6-2 loss to Western Michigan in the NCAA Frozen Four Championships.
Eiserman did score, for a second straight game, working hard to pot a rebound in to tie the game at 1-1:
The first-round pick nearly struck again early in the third period, firing from the right circle, but was robbed by the goaltender.
The final horn sound, while upsetting for the Boston Terrier, signified the end of what was a fantastic first collegiate season for Eiserman.
Eiserman finishes his impressive freshman season with 25 goals and 11 assists for 36 points in 39 games. He led all NCAA rookies and his own team in goals.
The 18-year-old showed up where it mattered most, scoring four times in the five games of the Frozen Four tournament.
Eiserman also won a multitude of awards, including: five-time Hockey East Rookie of the Week, Hockey East Rookie of the Month for October, a spot on the NCAA Toledo All-Regional Team, and the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.
His only missed game this season came during the World Juniors, where he scored three goals in seven games and helped Team USA win the gold medal.
