    Shesterkin gets paid.

    After trading their captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim ducks the New York Rangers have signed starting netminder Igor Shesterkin to an eight-year deal worth $11.5 million annually:

    Shesterkin, who is lifelong friends with New York Islanders starting goaltender Ilya Sorokin will be making $3.25 million more than his buddy. 

    Sorokin (2.84 GAA, .910 SV% in 209 career games) signed his eight year deal worth $8.25 million annually on July 1, 2023, a year before his previous contract was set to expire.

    The salary cap then was $83.5 million.

    The salary cap for the 2025-2026 NHL season when the Shesterkin (2.48 GAA, .920 SV% in in 231 career games) projected to be $92.5 million.
