The Blues have made a coaching change.
The St. Louis Blues have fired Drew Bannister following their 3-1 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday night.
Coming in to take over is former St. Louis Blues assistant coach Jim Montgomery (2020-2022).
After an 8-9-3 start, the Boston Bruins relieved Montgomery of his duties, a somewhat unfair firing given his success as Boston's coach.
But, there was no doubt that the 2023 Jack Adams winner would be unemployed for long.
It took all of five days.
The Blues are 9-12-1 on the season, with the hope that Montgomery, in his second stint with the club, can get them back into the playoffs after missing in each of the last two seasons.
