Here's all of our stories regarding potential landing spots for New York Islanders forward Josh Bailey ahead of the 2023 NHL Draft.

Here's all of our stories regarding potential landing spots for New York Islanders forward Josh Bailey ahead of the 2023 NHL Draft.

NASHVILLE -- A former ninth overall pick by New York in 2008, New York Islanders forward Josh Bailey had some incredible postseason moments and did reach the 1,000-game mark this past season.

But after 15 seasons, it seems that Bailey has run his course on Long Island.

With Round 1 of the NHL Draft tonight, there's a chance that we could see Bailey on the move.

Here's a collection of all our Bailey stories, starting with his words following the season.

Bailey Opens Up About Tough Season, Future With Islanders Anything But Certain

Bailey was honest following the season about his play this season, a year where he scored eight goals with 17 assists, averaging a career-low 15:08 minutes per game.

"Certainly, didn't play my best at times. I own that," Bailey said. "l felt like when I was (playing well), different things would happen. And we obviously had injuries throughout the course of the season, so I bounced around and on quite a few lines, in different positions.

"If I'm going to be sitting in the stands a lot, that is not something I want to do," Bailey said, rightfully so."

Lamoriello on Bailey: 'Maybe It's Near The End For Here'

Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello, who met with the media on Tuesday afternoon, was asked about Bailey's comments and what that means about his future with the club.

"Loyalty will never get in the way of impeding progress or making whatever decisions I have a responsibility to make. Never," Lamoriello said. "In Josh's case, it looks like maybe it's near the end for here. In our situation, Josh and I have, I think, a man-to-man relationship as far as honesty, and we will work with him -- whatever -- to help him, but my priority is doing what's best for the team."

The Special Affection For Islanders Josh Bailey Is Felt Keenly By The Maven

The New York Islanders are unlike any National Hockey League franchise. The players truly are like family, and with Josh Bailey playing the role of your favorite uncle; the guy you always could talk to and laugh with a lot.

In Yiddish, the word for Bailey is mensch, which is just an easier way to say super-duper guy who you'd never want anything bad to happen to.

But "bad" is happening to him now, and since I've known Bails for a good 15 years, I feel twinges of sadness about his fate as a big leaguer; which is not so good.

Islanders Veteran Could Help Kickstart Blackhawks Rebuild

The Chicago Blackhawks just got a gift of a lifetime, winning the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery Monday night, which now gives them the right to select a generational talent in Connor Bedard.

With Patrick Kane out and Jonathan Toews on his way out, general manager Kyle Davidson needs to address his personnel, as he needs a strong leadership group to help Bedard and a team with 11 players 25 and under grow, as well as reach the cap floor.

Could Chicago be a landing spot for Bailey?

Islanders Will Need to Attach Picks to Move Contracts, Offering a New Perspective

With just around $6.1 million in cap space, signing all four unrestricted free agents isn't possible for New York

The first buyout window closes on Friday, and if they felt so inclined, they could go that route with Josh Bailey and his $5 million cap hit.

One note to add is that the Islanders could get a second buyout window if 25-year-old forward Collin Adams files for arbitration (only player eligible). Whether the Islanders award Adams in arbitration or the two sides settle, the Islanders will get a second buyout window three days after.

Moving Bailey Will Be a Challenge for the Islanders

Following a report that the Arizona Coyotes have not expressed interest in Bailey, another team has voiced the same.

The Anaheim Ducks, per a source, aren't interested.

    What about the Buffalo Sabres?

It's important to note that Bailey has no say in where he goes, but the expectation is that Lamoriello -- if he decides to move Bailey -- will value Bailey's input, given what he's meant to the organization.

Trotz Trade Opens Door for Bailey Acquisition

On Saturday morning, former  Islanders head coach and current general manager of the Nashville Predators, Barry Trotz, shipped centerman Ryan Johansen to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for center Alex Galchenyuk.

The Predators retained 50 percent ($4 million) of Johansen's $8 million cap hit.

So what does this trade have to do with Trotz's former squad?

He now has space for Bailey, if he wanted him.
