Sophomore Danny Nelson doesn't wear a letter at Notre Dame, but he's been awarded one for Team USA.
EAST MEADOW, NY -- New York Islanders prospect Danny Nelson will be wearing an "A" for Team USA at the upcoming World Junior Championships:
The 19-year-old centerman, who the Islanders drafted 49th overall in 2023, has eight goals and five assists for 13 points in 18 games for Notre Dame this season after scoring nine goals with 14 assists for 23 points in 30 games during his freshman campaign.
Nelson does not wear an "A" for Notre Dame.
At the 2024 World Junior Championships last season, Nelson had a goal and assists in seven games.
He is expected to skate on a line with fellow Islanders prospect Cole Eiserman, who New York drafted 20th overall this past year.
