The Bridgeport Islanders concluded a very busy four-game week with an underwhelming record of 1-3-0-0.

On Tuesday morning, a back-and-forth affair against the Syracuse Crunch saw the struggling offense pot some goals in a 5-4 loss.

After a few days off, the Islanders played back-to-back-to-back from Friday to Sunday.

The first two games were both losses to the Hersey Bears, 5-4 and 4-0, but Bridgeport ended their week on a high note with a 3-1 win over the Providence Bruins on home ice.

Bridgeport now sits with a record of 5-9-1-0.

It was a strong week for defenseman Denis Cholowski, who tallied four assists and now has nine points in 15 games (one goal, eight assists).

Brian Pinho kept his strong play up as he scored goals against Syracuse and one on the power play against Providence. The first-year Bridgeportee has three goals and five assists in 13 games this season.

Ruslan Iskhakov had a two-point performance Saturday with a goal and an assist, tallying the primary apple on Pinho’s first-period goal against Providence.

The second-year AHLer stands at the top of Bridgeport’s point brigade with 13.

Sam Asselin, who has been dynamite as of late, scored Bridgeport’s first power-play goal since Oct. 27 on Tuesday against Syracuse. He added two assists in Hershey on Friday.

Matt Maggio recorded an assist against Syracuse on Tuesday, but after two games without a point later in the week, he served as a healthy scratch for Sunday’s game against Providence, with William Dufour slotting back in after watching for five straight games.

Otto Koivula scored his first goal of the season on Saturday against Hershey.

Karson Kuhlman scored a pair of goals on the weekend, with one Friday and one Sunday.

Cole Bardreau found the scoresheet for the first time this season with a goal and an assist against Syracuse. He added another assist Friday in Hershey.

Jakub Skarek had three of four starts for Bridgeport last week. In losses against Syracuse and Hershey, he made 20 saves on 24 shots and then 23 saves on 28 shots.

Skarek got the win on Sunday, conceding just one goal on 30 shots, making 29 saves in the process.

Ken Appleby stopped 28 out of 32 shots Saturday night against Hershey. His record moved to 2-3-0

Eetu Liukas scored his first-ever AHL goal Sunday, which eventually became the game-winner.

Jeff Kubiak scored in back-to-back games with goals against Syracuse and Hershey.
