ELMONT, NY -- Isaiah George is set to make his NHL debut for the New York Islanders Tuesday night at UBS Arena.

George, a 20-year-old left-handed defenseman, was drafted by the Islanders in the fourth round (No. 98) of the 2022 NHL Draft.

George is 20 years, nine months and 21 days old.

He is the youngest prospect to debut for the Islanders since Aatu Raty, who debuted at 20 years and 20 days old on Dec. 23, 2022.

George is debuting as the youngest defenseman for the Islanders since Noah Dobson.

Dobson debuted on Oct. 8, 2019, at the Nassau Coliseum against the Edmonton Oilers when he was 19 years, nine months and one day old.

Thanks to statistician Eric Hornick for the notes.

George played four games for the Bridgeport Islanders this season, scoring one goal and tallying one assist. He spent all three years of his junior career with the London Knights of the OHL, winning the OHL Championships in his final year, falling 4-3 to the Sagina Spirit in the Memorial Cup Final.

On Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, George will be on the third defensive pair alongside Grant Hutton.
