Lamoriello: "I think that you can never have enough puck mover in the game you have today, but they have to be the right people to accept whatever role that's coming in for. But they happen to be available, and I think, why not?

    ISAIAH GEORGE BACK TO BRIDGEPORT

Lamoriello: "I actually sat down with him. I spent quite a bit of time with him on the plane. I told him that we brought him up really early, and he just did a tremendous job here. And what happened was that he started to make a couple of mistakes, and they snowballed, and confidence got in the way. And then the recovery period of that sometimes takes a little longer. But there's nothing wrong with the experience he had. Now he'll go down and just grow a little more, and he'll be back at the NHL before he knows you know it. He has all the ability, tremendous, you know, sort of instincts. And what he has, you can't teach, is skating ability. He was in great spirits. In my opinion, it was sort of maybe a little bit of a relief, and we'll get him right in. He's going to play tonight."

    PIERRE ENGVALL'S ROLE

Engvall, who will play against the Tampa Bay Lightning, had found his way out of the lineup with the forward group getting healthy and the call-up of Marc Gatcomb.

THN asked Lamoriello about Engvall's role:

"I think that Pierre is a unique case. I think that he's a player who could play on any line, and I like the way he's handled when he went into the fourth line or the role that he's in right now at this time," Lamoriello said. "He's been doing the job, and Anthony [Duclair] came back, and those are decisions that have to be made. But you have to keep going, and then when your time comes again, you have to make the most of it and force the coach to make a tough decision."

    BRIDGEPORT'S STRUGGLES

The Bridgeport Islanders own a record of 10-29-2-2, dead last in the AHL. Is Lamoriello worried?

"No. As long as every time we bring a player up that we have there [plays well], because we ask the coach to put players in situations that can come up and play here," Lamoriello said. "In all fairness, goaltending has played a major role in Bridgeport. We've got five goaltenders and three have been down out of the five. So that was a focus last year, to make sure that we had goaltenders. Our scouting staff worked very hard at that. And right now, no, I wouldn't say that [the record matters too much]. The only thing you worry about is that you want people in a winning attitude or an environment, but they understand what's going on and how it is.

"And I think when you see a Gatcomb come in, you understand what the roles are of those people. And what you do is you get some people put in situations that they're not used to. I like to see people who have never killed penalties, who might be prospects, killing them. I think it helps them in every possible way."
