Matthew Maggio snapped an 11-game goal drought with a silky goal on Saturday night.

Rosner Discusses Sorokin's Performance Against Flyers

On Friday night, New York Islanders prospect and Bridgeport Islanders forward Matthew Maggio snapped an 11-game goal drought.

At the 3:21 mark of the third period, with Bridgeport trailing the Hershey Bears 4-3, Maggio stationed himself in front of goal. As Samuel Bolduc's point shot came at him, he went with a between-the-leg deflection to tie the game at 4-4:

Unfortunately for Maggio and Bridgeport, they allowed the eventual game-winning goal 1:09 later in a 5-4 loss, their third straight.

Maggio now has four goals and nine assists in 38 games this season.

While the underlying numbers leave much to be desired, there is half a season left for the prospect and others to turn around what has been a trying season.
