Denis Potvin and Brian Trottier made the announcement live at MetLife. The last time the Islanders hosted an All-Star Game was back during the 1983-84 season after winning their fourth straight Stanley Cup. Denis Potvin, Bryan Trottier, and Mike Bossy took part in the game, playing for the Wales Conference, while their head coach, Al Arbour, was behind the bench. The Campbell Conference defeated the Wales Conference 9-3.
