EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- During the first intermission of Sunday's Stadium Series, the NHL announced that the New York Islanders will host the 2026 NHL All-Star Game at UBS Arena.

Denis Potvin and Brian Trottier made the announcement live at MetLife.

The last time the Islanders hosted an All-Star Game was back during the 1983-84 season after winning their fourth straight Stanley Cup.

Denis Potvin, Bryan Trottier, and Mike Bossy took part in the game, playing for the Wales Conference, while their head coach, Al Arbour, was behind the bench.

The Campbell Conference defeated the Wales Conference 9-3.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said last season that the Islanders would hold a league event after the construction at Belmont Park was completed.

With there being no NHL All-Star Game in 2025, the extra year gives the Islanders enough time to have the hotels and shopping center done.
