Palmieri passed the puck to Pageau on a 2-on-1 before Pageau found Lee in the slot. Lee then hopped on the rebound to make it a 4-0 game. Brock Nelson extended the lead to 5-0 at 10:24 of the second. Horvat caused a turnover in the Bruins zone passing the puck to Mike Reilly who found Nelson in front of the net who put the puck past Ullmark. Marc McLaughin finally put Boston on the board at 14:30 of the second. James van Riemsdyk and Long Beach Native Charlie McAvoy picked up the assists on the goal.
