While Adam Fox was recently placed on injured reserve, the New York Rangers received some other positive injury news.
Chris Kreider has missed the Rangers’ past two games, but he was a full participant during practice on Thursday.
Kreider was listed as day-to-day with an apparent upper-body injury. He’s dealt with a nagging back injury all season long, which could be the reason for his latest absence.
Meanwhile, K’Andre Miller left the Blueshirts’ Tuesday night game against the New York Islanders early with a lower-body injury.
He took part in a number of drills during Thursday’s practice despite wearing a non-contact jersey.
Peter Laviolette seemed optimistic when discussing Kreider and Miller’s injury status.
“I'm really happy that he made it out there,” Laviolette said of Miller practicing with the team. “Kreids the same thing. We’ll make those decisions tomorrow, but it’s great to have those guys out there practicing with us. That was positive, real positive.”
Both players have not exactly been cleared to play on Friday night against the Maple Leafs. However, by the looks of practice, their injury progression is going in the right direction.
