in a ceremony before Sunday's game vs. the Montreal Canadiens, the New York Rangers announced that forward Vincent Trocheck has won the 2023-24 Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award.
The award is presented to the Ranger who: "goes above and beyond the call of duty" -- according to the fans.
The Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award was originally handed out towards the end off the 1987-88 season, after Police Detective Steven McDonald was shot in the line of duty, and passed away on January 10, 2017.
Trocheck has 25 goals and 50 assists for 75 points in 77 games this season for the Blueshirts entering the game.
